Man electrocuted after tree branch reportedly hits power line in Cypress, Precinct 4 says

CYPRESS, Texas – Deputies with Harris County Constable Precinct 4 say they were called to the 13500 block of Cahill Lane in Cypress after a 45-year-old man was injured while cutting a tree near a clubhouse.

In an update, deputies later confirmed the man died from his injuries after being taken to a local hospital.

According to preliminary information, a branch came into contact with a nearby power line, triggering an electrical incident. EMS was on scene as first responders worked the call.

Officials used the term “electrocuted” in their initial report. In general, electrocution refers to being injured or killed by an electric shock.

Deputies asked people to avoid the immediate area so crews have room to work.
