TEXAS CITY, Texas – Authorities in Texas City say the body of a man who went fishing in Moses Lake has been found after a neighbor reported seeing his boat capsized on Wednesday.

The Texas City Police Department says Robert Kenneth Gass, 74, left his home to fish Moses Lake in his boat at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
At approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, a neighbor reported seeing Gass’s boat capsized near the flood gate at Moses Lake.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office boat and Dive team, along with the Texas City Police Department, the Texas City Fire Department and their water rescue boat, as well as helicopters searched the area for Gass.
Wednesday evening, Texas City police said Gass’s body was found near the center of Moses Lake during the search.
